This next series of drawing and painting workshops will again be designed for beginners and intermediates
providing skills to create art you will be proud of.
With a maximum of five participants, enjoy personalised and focused tutorials amongst a small group of like-minded enthusiasts. Held at the artist's studio in Seacliff Park, SA, the venue includes easels, boards, tables, stools, modern bathroom facilities, heating, and unlimited tea and coffee. Street parking is available.
Topics to be covered include:
Composition
Drawing
Light and shade
Colour mixing
Tonal colour (value)
Techniques of paint application
For one fee of $400.00 (that's $50 per 3.5-hour session) you can secure your spot
in the next 8-week workshop. Sessions run consecutively Saturdays starting at 10.30am through to 2.00pm.

After celebrating the beauty of the Australian landscape in our last workshop, we’re now turning our attention to the evocative urban worlds of Sali Herman. His terrace‑house scenes of inner‑Sydney are atmospheric, character‑filled and technically superb—perfect inspiration for our next creative deep dive.
In this new workshop series, we’ll explore Herman’s signature strengths: expressive colour choices, confident tonal structure, thoughtful composition and the art of building a painting through layers. These are foundational skills that elevate every artist, no matter your experience level.
The paintings we’ll be working from are rich with story and texture--the very essence of why we paint. I hope you’ll come along for this journey and discover how much Herman’s techniques can unlock in your own work.
